Images to accompany April 2016's blog post.
March generally heralds the end of winter in Corfu. The winter has been an exceptionally mild one. Will it give us one last reminder?
February is usually the beginning of our really bad weather but it started remarkably good.
A brief look at what January 2016 meant to us. Included are comments on the weather, trips out and the pruning of our olive trees. Look out for some wildlife as well!
These images give an overview of our time in Corfu during 2015.

A few images taken in and around Loutses.
The summer holidaymaker may be forgiven for thinking that Corfu is hot and sunny all year round. However, we should point out that we do experience winters which can be cold and wet. Snow is not unheard of as these images show.
Brush Fires are a constant threat during the summer months in Corfu. These images chronicle the efforts of the Hellenic Fire Service and Hellenic Air Force in dealing with fires during 2011.
These images show some of the devastation caused by the brush fires near Loutses and Anapafteria during August 2011. Most of the smaller vegetation has recovered but not so the trees. It is impossible to assess how many of the animals, reptiles and birds survived.
We have attended many Panigiris (local festivals) over the years but I think that the first one we attended in Loutses was in 2005. Since then it has evolved and is now a much larger affair as I hope these photographs show. The Panigiri is great fun and worthy of attending should you be in Corfu for the last Sunday of July.
Nymfes Waterfalls are quite spectacular during winter months and are worthy of a visit fby anyone fortunate enough to be in Corfu during winter.
These are just a few shots of the waterfalls and of a nearby olive grove that we took during a recent visit.
Kite flying is a traditional pastime in Greece on Clean Monday. People will often picnic if the weather permits. Despite the weather this year, it didn't stop some from enjoying themselves. Simple pleasures still exist in Greece.
Sunday, 9th February 2014 saw Tricia and I take a trip to the South of the Island. Our objective was to have lunch in Petriti.
We stopped off at a number of places both on the way there and back to take some photographs. This gallery contains a selection of them.
Tricia and I had a wonderful Easter Sunday lunch at Gabriel's Steps Taverna, Old Peritheia. Even the weather was kind to us.

Probably the most sophisticated @Greek Night' that a visitor to Corfu could wish for is held every Thursday night during the season at Taverna Nikolas, Agni Bay.
A few bugs and butterflies spotted on our walk.
Here are a few images that Tricia took both of the food at The Village Bar Restaurant in Marathias and of the view from 'The Big Bite' in Benitses
The highlight of the 2014 Panigiri was the Kassiopi Dance Troupe who performed dances from all over Greece. I think that you will agree that their costumes were magnificent.
As you will see in the later photos, even the Pappas was enjoying the dancing!
Some sights from our boat trip to Corfu Town from Kassiopi.
